(NORTHUMBERLAND, ON) - The Northumberland Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) dealt with 151 incidents this past weekend, here are some examples:

June 15

While out on foot patrol near Bridge Street and Ranney Street in Campbellford ON, on officer observed a male known to him sitting on a park bench drinking an alcoholic beverage. The officer conducted an investigation and found the male to be breaching conditions set upon him by the courts. As a result of the investigation Wesley Campbell (age 22) of Trent Hills was arrested and charged with three counts of Fail to Comply with Recognizance. He has been held in custody pending a bail hearing at the Ontario Court of Justice in Cobourg.


June 16

Police responded to domestic dispute in the Trent Hills area. As a result of the investigation a male from the Hastings area was arrested and charged with assault and uttering threats. He was released with a date in July to attend court. The name of the accused is being withheld to protect the identity of the victim.
Officers responded to a noise complaint at a farm house field party east of Cobourg. The small crowd was dispersed upon officer's arrival.
Just before midnight police responded to a report of loud music, people yelling and screaming around a bon fire at a south end residence in Brighton. The home owner was spoken to and agreed to turn the music down.


June 17

Just after 3am a female reported that her neighbor observed two parties enter her unlocked vehicle that was parked on Kelly road in Hamilton Township. A case of soda was taken and air had been released from her front tires. *
Police arrested an intoxicated male found to be hitchhiking near Campbellford. The male was held until sober then released.
A Trent Hills area man was arrested and charged with assault after police responded to a domestic dispute east of Campbellford. The male was released with a date to attend court in July.
A male from Hamilton Township called police to report that his house and car keys had been stolen from the back patio of a family's residence. A fear his vehicle may get stolen as a result of the theft. *

Northumberland OPP officers also investigated 14 accidental 9-1-1 calls, 8 motor vehicle collisions, 32 traffic related complaints and conducted 9 RIDE programs over the weekend.
