Fatal Collision - One Person Arrested

(ELGIN COUNTY, ON) - The Elgin County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to fatal crash around 3:00 a.m. on December 8, 2018.
The crash occurred near the intersection of John Wise Line and Springwater Road in between the Municipality of Central Elgin and the Township of Malahide.
The crash involved a single red pickup truck.
Malahide Fire Services along with St. Thomas Elgin paramedics attended the scene. At this point in the investigation one male has been arrested and another person has died as a result of injuries sustained in the crash.
Currently the roadways will remain closed at Quaker Road and Rogers Road for east to west traffic and Southdale Line and Pleasant Valley Road for north to south traffic.
The OPP's technical traffic collision investigators are on scene and continuing the investigation.
