(MILVERTON, ON) - A Reduce Impaired Driving Everywhere (RIDE) check in Milverton resulted in the locating of a Young Driver not in compliance with provincial statutes. The driver was stopped by a member of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), Sebringville detachment shortly after 1:30 a.m. on July 14, 2019.
Through investigation, it was determined that the driver had consumed alcohol. He failed a road side test and was arrested and transported to the Sebringville OPP detachment for further testing.
Brendon KUEPFER, 21-years-old, of Perth East was issued Provincial Offence Notices (PON's) for the following;
Young driver - Blood Alcohol Concentration (BAC) above zero
Driver - fail to properly wear seat belt
The male was also issued a 3 day licence suspension and the motor vehicle was towed.
Perth County OPP want to remind Young Drivers that drivers age 21 or under and novice drivers of any age (with G1, G2, M1, or M2 licenses) must not have any presence of alcohol in their blood when behind the wheel. This is commonly referred to as the "zero BAC" or "zero tolerance" rule.
