Fatal Snowmobile Collision Near Ethel

(HURON EAST, ON) - Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), with the assistance of the West Region OPP Traffic Incident Management & Enforcement (TIME) Team are currently investigating a fatal snowmobile crash that has occurred earlier this evening southeast of Ethel.

On February 10, 2020, at approximately 8:46 p.m., members from the Huron County & Perth County OPP Detachments, Huron County Paramedic Services and Grey Township Fire Department responded to a report of a crash involving two snowmobiles located on the Ontario Federation of Snowmobile Clubs (OFSC) trail section located between Krauter Line and Henfryn Line.

Two snowmobile operators were transported from the scene to a local hospital.

One of the operators has died as a result of injuries sustained in the crash. The other operator sustained minor injuries.

The identity of the deceased is being withheld pending next-of-kin notification.

Huron County OPP has closed the snowmobile trail between Krauter Line and Henfryn Line for the collision investigation.
