(SPRINGWATER TOWNSHIP, ON) The Huronia West Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have charged an individual with impaired driving related charges.
On April 20, 2025, shortly after 10:00 p.m., Huronia West OPP officers were conducting a R.I.D.E. program in Springwater Township.
Officers observed a vehicle that failed to pull over as requested. Officers pursued the vehicle which was stopped a short distance away resulting in the apprehension of the driver. During the interaction, officers formed grounds that the drivers ability to operate a motor vehicle was impaired by alcohol, leading to an arrest. As a result of the investigation, Rodney TEOLIS, 54-year-old of Midhurst, was arrested and has been charged with the following:
· Operation while Impaired Alcohol
· Operation while Impaired Blood Alcohol Concentration (80 plus)
· Flight From Peace Officer
· Dangerous Operation
· Resist Peace Officer
The accused is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice located in Collingwood on May 27, 2025, to answer to the charges.
